I am awaiting delivery of a new Dell Studio Laptop with i5, 4Gb RAM, 500Gb HD and 512Mb graphx, so will be joining the ranks of the Win 7 users soon.

Don't know if you have much dealings with computers bumpkin, but if it don't come with a Recovery Disc, it would be a good idea to create one straight away, before installing your software.

Windows 7 comes with an imaging applet which creates an on-the-fly backup of the system and will also create a recovery CD/DVD Smiley Brilliant bit of software.

Sounds like it might work a bit like Acronis True Image, which I use.  I backup my OS on a separate partition and an external drive, just to make sure biggrin

I did start to use the backup option on Windows 7, but seem to remember the image being massive, so I ended up sticking with Acronis which used less hard drive space; maybe Acronis compresses the image as well icon_question

Got my new one, installed FSX and high res England and Wales photo scenery last night and have been blown away, smooth and fast, crisp and clear.

Still got to add my planes and traffic but keep an eye on the random pics thread as I think you might be just a little impressed compared to my previous offerings icon_wink...................................

If you are used to a reasonable size LCD on your desktop PC (say 20" or bigger)  you will probably find a netbook a bit small and hard on the eyes (although I am probably 20 years older than you I find I prefer my laptops to my netbook)

oh the netbook would just be for travel really. i do however use my 14" lappy much more than my desktop now though. and i rarely have an issue with the real estate.

i have a current liking for the HP Mini 210-1020 (i think thats the number?) - not sure what the Revo is.
