Found some links to official HMASERVICE diagrams giving elementary diagnostics to help determine the problem if your alarm is playing the fool...

Note that these are very "noddy" but may be useful to some members Smiley

The pictures don't show up very well with our club theme, but a clearer image will show if you click the diagram

(1) Alarm does not work but hazard lamps flash

(2) When bonnet is opened with system armed, alarm does not trigger

(3) When door is opened, alarm does not trigger (but if tailgate and hood is opened, alarm does work)

(4) When tailgate is opened with system armed, alarm does not trigger

(5) When car is locked using the remote, central door lock function works but hazard lamps don't flash

(6) Central door lock function works using key, but keyless entry system does not

yeah...i seem to have noticed the same thing as well, my hazards have never flashed one minute after I lock the car and I have never gotten the alarm to trigger before..is this diagram only for those that get the upgrade alarm or for all i30s? maybe I might have to check it in next time i get a service done..
