More of an angry post than anything else... icon_evil

.. but I'd like to be able to vary the number of sweeps the blades did when the windscreen washer is pulled, such that if no water comes out of the sprayer when frozen when I pulled the stalk that it would know and not smear piles of shite across my glass for three full wipes

If I could restrict this to a single wipe cycle I'd be happier than I was earlier tonight when I thought it would be ok to clear the windscreen with a wash/wipe icon_rolleyes but no fekkin water came out  icon_rolleyes

Why can't wipers be more sensitive to my needs  Cry

Very annoying. I have nearly neat screenwash in my washer bottle at the moment so it doesn't freeze.

£1 for a big container in ASDA  mrgreen

I'd hate to compare you to a female, but that sounds like something my wife would do only her problem is she never fills up the washer fluid and then acts like a miracle has happened when I take the car and fill it up and clean the windows Wink

Back on topic though, I'd like to have the rear wiper wait a second or two before starting to allow the water to get to the window before activating and then only do two swipes at the most but it seems to go on forever.

Well although it's very cold here I think it's the nozzle that freezes, not the water in the tank. I've started carrying a bottle of water in case I try to clear the glass while driving only to have it smear; easy enough to pull over and douse the windscreen

Maybe its possible to lag the small pipes, I haven't looked.

My OH's car had a 50/50 mix and the bottle froze in the garage a few days ago!

It's possible, just don't release the button until the fluid is down the window icon_wink

A design that put the bottle behind the engine, not in front would help too, until it melts on a really hot day.
