Heya folks... long overdue... some fotos of my i30 along Stuart Highway towards Hay.

http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8SZtWzVi0Y4g

Lesson learnt (newbie):-
- Never Bring fruits when travelling, I never ate so many fruit in a go and threw out so many... feeling really guilty.
- really careful when driving at night. In the pics, you can see a dent on the rear left door was caused by an "encounter" with the beloved (or late) Roo. I was really careful and make the swerve, the unlucky roo hitted the car at the side. You can see some black/brown mark along the wheel arc. Thank God for ESP. After that, I followed behind a truck. The lesson is you can be ever so viligant but it hit you when you least expect it. That was on Hume highway towards Campeltown around mignight. Not even dusk/dawn when they are expected to roam. In a flash, I saw a roo jumping towards me on the front left 45deg field. No chance of avoiding. A thud and what can I do?

Fuel economy was great with Vortex Diesel. I did 25litres covering 474km. Stepped the throttle a lot more than I shd with in City. Took the chance to refuelled at Wagga Wagga, when I found a station with Vortex Diesel, not sure I'll seeing any of those soon.

So far the car is brilliant. In the city i can do 679km in 37 litres.
cheers.... WS

All good Wayne.. thanks for sharing.. Just a word of warning though, following a large vehicle is no guarantee you still won't hit a roo... Sometimes I've seen them wait for a truck to pass then jump!!!

Or the truck can go over the top of them & suddenly they come out from underneath in not very good condition icon_eek

fuel consumption was unreal. top it up and drove Melbourne to Sydney 879km. there was still slightly less than one quarter remaining..... on my previous SUV i'd have fill in once mid-way. and fill it again the next day in sydney. biggrin

The long shot with the shed and light in the background is great (but I don't want to buy a copy  icon_wink)
