But has the diesel bug been eliminated? Just changing the filter once then using the fuel additive may not be enough. Frankly if it were me I would flush the fuel tank and fuel lines to the filter then use the additive. I would also change and inspect the fuel filter after about 5,000k to make absolutley sure there was no sign of the bug surviving
I  had the diesel bug once and that was how I dealt with it, now I use at all times a fuel additive that deals with the pest

It`s not the first time I have seen the blacke sludge. The biodiesel is probably the cause of the problem. Iknow Bosch only approvd a max of 5% biodiesel in the fuelsystem. Atleast here in Norway. I experience the effects of bad diesel my self. I changed Diesel filter and filled the filter with TUNAP T134 (Injector Cleaner) and filled up the fuel tank and added T983. (Service Concentrate).
The Limp Home mode can also be caused by Overboost.
Is there any faultcodes?

The brake light switch is it changed? If it`s changed is it changed to the modifyed switch? That have and extra ground wire?

Correct me if I am wrong but Hyundai only allow up to 5% biodiesel  according to EN 14214

I finally managed to get hold of some decent Biocide for the fuel bug and have had no trouble yet. I will change the filter after the "kill dose" has gone through the tank, but I can tell you already that the fuel efficiency has gone up draastically!!!

Also thought I should add a photo of my i30 for my posts, taken last night in the depths of WA darkness!! And no there has been no doctoring, the Milky Way really is that clear up here

I did a bit of a nightmare getting the job done right, firstly they decided to adjusted the brakes badly and I was constantly chewing on my steering wheel every time I so much as thought about braking, but they readjusted them a couple of days later back to normal. However, whilst they were doing that they knocked a wire off that meant I had no dashboard lights when I turned my lights on!! Had to drive home by torchlight lol, but again they fixed that pretty quickly. As for the original problem, well that has almost completely disappeared, I did have the ESP Off light come on once, but I have chosen to ignore it and put it down to a one off glitch!!
