I too have a large head, Dave. As my "mates" in the Navy used to say, "You have the unfeasibly large, novelty scone." I did have trouble getting the helmets to fit as well. Basically I'd get the largest possible and just put in the thinest padding.As for head size, in metric I am a 60-61cm head, and have a weird shape (as those that have met me can testify).
