Has this been posted yet? Looks like we will be seeing a refreshed i30 this year! Nothing major by the looks of it, but i wonder what that new grill will look like. Will also be interesting to see what changes, if any, they do to the interior.

They are updating every model in the range and by 2015 the new i10 will be the oldest in the range. The new ix25 looks pretty cool.

Hopefully they spend some time improving the economy of the diesel.

VW golf hatch 4.5l/100 (extra) 5.8/100 (urban)
VW Golf Wagon 4.7/100 (extra) 7.1/100 (urban)

I30 Hatch 4.5/100 (extra) 7.5/100 (urban).
I30 Wagon 4.6/100 (extra) 7.9/100 (urban)

Using that as a benchmark, I would say they have some work to do on the urban figures, especially in the hatch....After all this is a wish list (and once the sheet metal is done and dusted the next official upgrade seems to be cheap new front and back on the car, a few new trinkets inside and a play with the engine/transmission for what used to be more power, which has now become more economy).

Are those figures for the auto, beerman?  :undecided:

The i30 Hatch in manual form has figures of 3.7 for "extra", 5.9 for "urban" and 4.5 "combined"

Comparing the auto i30 with the DSG equipped Golf is probably more a comparison of transmission efficiency than of the engine...  :undecided:

Also, what capacity TDI are those figures from the Golf for?

At first glance, no more changes than new grille. The 3-door model has had those different fog / DRL lights from the start.

I wonder if the engine options will change; maybe a petrol turbo???

I think the windscreen is actually the current panoramic roof on some models. The glass roof blends with the screen like on my Venga giving the impression the screen goes up and over the roof.

Here are few tit-bits - it seems all the brands are now following Ford with small turbo petrol engines with high torque and low emissions

That is the 2014 European model from what I can tell, no changes in the front end/ grill at all, there are pictures in the gallery of 2014 edition 3drs and it's the same.

They are testing facelifted i30 at Nürburgring, really flooring it to the limits. Looks like there will be new 1.0 and 1.4 liter T-GDI turbo petrol engines, and possibly double-clutch A/T replacing the traditional torque converter one.

Be interesting to see what, if any, changes will be made to the diesel drivetrain.

It would be interesting to compare to the Golf Diesel in real world driving.  I'd suggest there wouldn't be much between them, especially the manuals.

The 1.7CRDi  would be a nice upgrade.

I would love to have the new i30 Tourer/CW with the 1,7 CRDi 100kW / 325 Nm

Hyundai need a i30 like that as most other brands have a C segment car with similar specs...

It wouldn't be hard to do, they have already developed the 1.7 for the i40..... It would actually reduce the number of different engines for them, so would nearly be cost neutral.
