The twin pipes look.. err.. ok I guess.

It's what's under the metal that counts though, and it could be a whole lot of different vehicle.

From what I can gather that article is just pure speculation, no evidence whatsoever and it's probably just a customer or employees car with Kia rims and a aftermarket twin exhaust rear end.

I've seen several i30's through various websites that look just like that one :winker:

Oh yeah, that's what I've been hoping would happen! I love the i30 shape but would like the Volester turbo powerplant. Very cool! Might have to trade My Elite if it hits the market.

I just dont think I30s should try to look hot.  They are a marvelous little run around that have done the high end really well (the elite etc) Gives you all the bells and whistles for an amazing price.  They should stick to this formula as they do it well. They dont have the shape to do it properly.  If you want a hot hatch buy this. I have driven one, its amazing.

Anyone notice that back has the 'Hyundai' and 'i30' badges? They changed this with the 2014 model so it just has the 'i30' badge on the left. Seems to me it's just someones car.

That reminds me. I spotted an FD SR (badged) in the lane beside mine a couple of days ago and the only skirting on it were the side skirts. I thought my all-'round skirting was the SR spec.

This might be the case but Hyundai just can't get it right with the radio, they still do not know about RDS, I own a i130 2013 and  really missed out on the radio.
Can you believe in this day and age and still expensive cars built without RDS, NEW POSSIBILITIES, NEW THINKING" The problem is they are not thinking so where does the new possibilities come in.
Hyundai is stuck in the 70's with there radio ideas.

Incorrect, RDS is offered in other countries, just not yours. I have no idea why not. Suggest you voice your displeasure to your Hyundai Head Office.

I think one of our members in South Africa (wabbit) found a way of enabling it!

Indeed, but this was on an FD model, FWIW.

I like the look of the i30 in said article. It looks badass, and I am sure it would turn a few heads. Hyundai's here in SA don't really get 'pimped out' as say a Golf or a Polo or even a Corolla (yes, people here will do anything for 'street cred').

Has anyone noticed how similar the Toyota Auris looks to the i30 GD, especially the rear end?

I don't see the similarities sorry  different shape - lines and even the rear window is shaped differently with a steeper rake ( I do like the steeper window though :) )

I think it is the tail lights (almost an interchangeable part!)

Yeah maybe a little bit in the tail lights, the bottom line of the light is similar.
