Hi,

I have bought a really nice 1600 diesel i30 in Spain. All is pretty straight forward but I am a bit confused as to the cruise control function. I can turn it on and make it work, increment and reduce using the plus or minus buttons. My problem is knowing what all of the buttons do. I have the handbook but my Spanglish is not really good enough for all the technical terms.

Can anyone give me a simple run through?

I have uploaded a JPG of my particular model.

Cheers

Welcome! Sounds like you have pretty much got it sorted, but this might help... (link to FD series Owner's manual in English)  :goodjob:

The top button with the circle is the cancel button - you press the "res" to resume whatever you cancelled (cruise or speed limiter).

The one below is the speed limiter button; press that to activate the limiter then press the set button when you're at the maximum speed you desire.

Sounds like you already discovered the Cc button below that :)

Welcome aboard :D

Hi,

Instead of me creating another post for similar question but just wanted to know if the cruise control have a limite before you can activate it plz. I was doing 40 mph and I clicked on the cruise control but it didn't do anything or maybe I have to do more than 50 mph for it to work?

Thanks.

Not sure of the speed limit, but 40mph should be fast enough for it to engage.  Just remember that you have to turn it on, then set it.  Also the brake must have been pressed since you first turned it on, otherwise it won't engage (it is to do with the logic of the system).  The owners' manual is also a very good source of information on the functions of the cruise control.

Any speed above 25 MPH should work for you, subject to the above conditions being met.

The i30 diesel I had lowest set speed was 40kph.
FB nailed it, the brake must be depressed before CC will activate, as has been said turn on then get to the speed you wish to cruise at but sit on that speed first then set, if you have to touch brake it turns off. Just push reset it will go back to last speed you set.
