      Caloundra, Queensland.
OK. Got mine on today.
Didn't take too long and only one small piece of skin off.
I got down on the floor (front and back) with a very popwerful torch and sussed out the sharp bits. There's a few.
Mine are just cheap(ish) sheep skin style from Supercheap Autos (Fathers' Day gift from a son and a daughter).
I need them because no matter how careful I am, I always manage to leave marks on the seats after I come out of the surf.
Quite comfy, too.
No side air bags to worry about.
Oh. And I found a missing silver chain I thought I had lost forever. Hidden in that little flap behind the gap in the passenger seat.
Bonus!

Glad to see your father's day present made you gay I mean happy...

Unlike the "poms" I like sheepskin covers (and they look better without a split in the side)

i think everyone but that 98 year old lady down the road with a 1967 corolla (you all know you have seen one) hates the seat belt protectors and steering wheel covers!!!

Why buy a car with nice seats the cover then up?

To be honest I actually find the seats in the i30 SLX to be a little on the hard side.. Sit in an i45 for example and you immediately feel a huge difference (my previous car (07 civic) was more inline with the i45 than the i30). The drivers seat is actually worse than the passenger seat in my car, so I think the SX drivers seat (which I test drove) is actually better for me than the SLX one.. In short drives it isn't that apparent but in longer drives it begins to bother me.

I am slowly getting used to it but still thinking of the wool seats simply to soften the seat a little.. Of course then I have to deal with the daggy factor of wool covers...

That said the actual material and colour of the seats are very good as they won't discolour too easily..

EDIT: I think it is actually the lumbar support in the SLX that causes the main problem for me, even when you turn it down as low as it will go it is still pushing out a bit and as I am 6'4" it is slightly in the wrong position for my back... <- Thats my theory anyway

good head room ;)

yeah the i30, well at least the cw which is all I have driven, has really good head room.

I had a look at the seat covers, and decided to hold off a few more weeks to see if I just get accustomed to the seats..

and back to the topic of seat covers.   I'm just using cloth mechanics style throw over covers similar to the snap on tools ones.
