Hello ibrokeit
Your "How-To:" was exactly what I was looking for but didn't find
On my indicator three of the LEDs are not working anymore - which I find a bit disturbing since the lifetime of a LED in principle should be longer than the life time of the car...
I had hoped that it would be possible to replace only the LEDs, but from what I see on your picture the indicator itself is a sealed unit that is not possible to open
Looks like I have to start a eBay search...
On the How-To - not a problem, I know how that goes.
Interesting on three not working anymore - in theory yes they should. Having said that environmental factors could play a part, not saying it is... just a thought/guess - such as the LED encapsulation/lens itself being well below freezing and rapidly warming when indicator gets used - could fatigue the plastic until is compromised... then the LED junction stops working because of that. Could also have been a bad batch of LEDs or bad solder joints.
I think you are right on it being sealed type unit - I am sure I still have the old one, but it isn't 'jumping out' at me so can't confirm.
It looks like the ebay links at the start of the how-to are still good - and the part is an OEM part. Though maybe the Czech plant warning might apply to you.
