REPCO have 40% off Penrite this weekend if you can muster the troops to pick up if you have not got the oil yet. Also 30% off batteries

Send me the money, Gonz and I'll buy some for you!   :D

Thanks, Dave, but you know I don't like to impose. I'll just revisit the offer of the week when I get there. :goodjob:

Gonz, you can always get Shell Ultra for $44 from Blackwoods, there should be a store close to your new residence https://www.blackwoods.com.au/about-us/branch-locations?state=VIC

Did you solve the vin issue?

I have the warranty sheet from the Wife's car if you need a vin.

Son got me the VIN from the storage manager. Funny thing with the odd email from ebay / aliexpress requesting more proof of identity scans.

A few days after I responded by saying that they can shove their order, but only after uploading some random image repeatedly in order to complete the form and send them my words of disgust, I get a reply thanking me for my proofs of docs (ID, credit card, passport, etc) and that I can continue to buy from them.

Sounds suss, eh?

Steve, I did, BEFORE I got the email about needing more proof of ID. I already had confirmation of the order before that.

Alan, thanks, I'll send you the same scans I sent them.

Folks, I need online support, now at Storage King Beverley. Where is the injection rail relay connector so I can cycle oil without starting?

This is possibly a daft idea - but could you not jack one front wheel off the ground - put it into gear and rotate the engine several rotations to ensure it is freed up.

I'll get me coat.........

Probably too late for you now, but just uncouple the injector block connector

I can confirm  Fuse No. 11 in the engine bay fuse box 10amp if removed it definitely won't start, at least mine did not when it blew with the  gearbox sensor harness shorting.

CHANGED???

We've lost our sims, chauffeur, maid, gardener, security guards, we don't even have an address anymore :crazy1:

All we have now is an ininsured, unregistered Firty happily running on new oil, filters , original battery and Oct 2015 fuel  :happydance:

As I messaged Dazz this morning once I discovered a neighbour's open wifi  :whistler: I must sing the praises of the Stabil I used to keep the tankful of Diesel fresh. The bottle says that it's good for 6 months so I just doubled the dose.  :whistler:

It was really very nice to see Firty again, all shiny under the cover and smelling all new and milky from the genuine lambswool covers, just how I left her. :DoubleKiss:

An interesting aside is that my son informed me yesterday that the four SuperCheap jack stands I had used to keep Firty's tyres airborne (and handy for the oil change) are subject to a recall!

Well, they've served their purpose now. I suppose returning four recalled items to exchange them for two better ones is really a bonus. :victory:

What is (hopefully) the final chapter in Firty's revival story is the replacement of the OEM Solite MF64-26GL with a Yuasa NS70LBMF. The labelled CCA rating went up from 630 to 700, and the lower edge ridge is the fit needed for clamping when compared with the equivalent Century.

$210 from Battery World and on the road again. :goodjob:

Firty's having to re-learn old tricks. This morning's 50 litres of fuel (35 from 2015, 15 from yesterday) registered as a range of just 660 km, although during the trip to Melbourne it covered 770 km and now registers 189 km remaining with the fuel gauge pointing at the 1/4 mark.

Firty's having to re-learn old tricks. .

They do this to make sure you still love them. They enjoy the discipline , old routines, bonding etc.
A regular pat on the bonnet is good, but not too much affection, you don't want her to roll over on her back .

I would have got a refund and bought more when I needed them. That really is a bonus
