Hi , after many years of Fords I decided on an i30 Auto diesel Active, (first auto)  the car is 8 months old. I understood that TPMS was fitted, on start up no TPMS check light shows, took the car back to the dealer (Hyundai) after about an hour they came back to me and it was not fitted, checked on specs it is specified as being fitted.

I then e-mailed Hyundai, they replied saying that yes it is. Could anybody enlighten me as to whether it is fitted on this model please , I realise they can be troublesome but I am curious as to why I am getting two different answers. Had the car a fortnight and I am so far impressed .

Regards Chris.

I have no idea and am unable therefor to assist...

I am however never-endingly grateful not have it.

This last month or so I have been plagued with punctures, to such a level that my paranoia has been running rampant.    Had I had this feature my nightmare would have become akin to the apocalypse from which there would have been no escape.

Someone will be able to help you  :goodjob: :goodjob:

Could you post a picture of your tyre valve? Another UK member may be able to identify if it is or not. Pretty sure our Aussie I30's don't get TPMS yet.

If it were me and was not sure if fitted, I personally would test it by temporarily removing some air from a tyre and see if a warning light shows.

That's what I was hoping for. Same as Veloster (the only model I've seen it on until Genesis).

Definitely on the cards for vehicle type M1:

Quote
Category M: Motor vehicles with at least four wheels designed and constructed for the carriage of passengers.

Category M1: Vehicles designed and constructed for the carriage of passengers and comprising no more than eight seats in addition to the driver's seat.

Thanks to all those who replied, had a check round the valves look fairly ordinary to me, further E-mail to Hyundai again confirmed that the car is TPMS fitted and should be working, they advised taking the car back to dealer, if any problems the dealer is to contact the technical dept.

Only 12000 on the clock and just wondering if somebody has replaced with ordinary valves, although it still does not explain why the check light does not show on start up.

Thanks again Chris H

I can just about guarantee that you don't have it fitted to the 2014 Active.

That gives me some confidence in Hyundai HQ , it took the garage forty five minutes to come back and tell me they were not sure. I must admit I have doubts myself.
Have given Hyundai the relevant details of the car and twice they have said it's fitted, weird .

If the sensors had been removed you would have a warning light on the dash all the time.

As Shambles said an Active model is unlikely to have TPMS fitted. Bit strange Hyundai are telling you it is fitted.
