I just finished watching this and I am sure going to miss the trio, especially Jezza. He meant a lot for the show...such a pity he dug a grave for himself but I guess that's life :'(

The episode was standard TG fare, nothing really special but the content was very well laid out, even though it differed from the Top Gear layout a bit here and there.

Kudo's to the one who can tell me which South-African item was mentioned by Hammond in the episode

Watched it Sunday - very poignant in places, like the start and the end :)

Best bit for me was the caravan race

Biltong !  I'll miss the show as well. I know a lot of it was staged but it was still car orientated good entertainment IMHO.

I'm not wishing to pee on your chips - but other than for a few funny random minutes - I found the whole thing tedious and contrived.  Why the heck do we need to see penis spoked alloys - it's childish.

Jeremy seemed to have aged by 10 years and the other two seemed lost. If this was an example of what the show would have been had it carried on - it's justification for a radical change.

Off topic a bit, but can one purchase biltong in Aus? I don't want to resort to smuggling some of it in when I come visit one day :whistler:

If it's any consolation, it's not cheap here either

Beef biltong can go for as little as AU$5 per KG at festivals and butcheries to AU$15 at airports and events. Kudu biltong is by far the best tasting, and Impala is a close second. Impala is a bit pricier though as you only get a small amount of meat off one, and as biltong is partially dried you tend to lose most of it to evaporation and drying.

I might have to go get myself a bag or two at the rate than my mouth is watering :sweating:

I think we only get the beef biltong here :undecided: I haven't seen the other variety anyway.

The biltong store up the road from me has it for about $37 per kg and prepacked jerky sells for around $4 per 50gm bag :disapp:

How about some Skippy Biltong???  :goodjob:

Now I've seen it all :P

Although we get biltong here made out of fish meat, but I have never seen it in store (it's mostly a west coast delicacy)
