Alternator
Hi all.

I have an i30 diesel auto. after discovering a bit of a noise. I inspected the drive belt and found it to be slightly loose and flapping about when idling. When I apply revs the noise stops and the belt runs through the pulleys smoothly.

I’ve replaced the belt but there is still the same issue. I think it’s an issue with the tensioner pulley so I’ve deceived to remove inspect and replace if required. The issue is, I can’t get the tensioner pulley off. Removed the bottom left bolt no problem.  the top right bolt will be come out at there is another pulley in the way.

Can anyone help?

Suspension Springs
Hi All, I ordered a standard wagon/estate i30 with 1.5 T-GDI MHEV engine and i-MT manual transmission. This engine has relatively high power, 160 hp, and this is the same engine that comes with the 2020-2021 top N-line models. Mine is not an N-line. But I tried one with the same engine and I can tell that the power steering and the suspension are slightly better on the N-line compared to the standard trim level. According to the official communications the N-line only gets different setting, not different components. My question is, would it be possible somehow to modify the power steering and suspension settings on a standard car to make it similar to the N-line? I asked my Hyundai retailer, they said that a suspension modification would c...

Suspension Springs
While out today I heard a cracking noise from the front nearside front wheel.

Going over speed bumps when it happened it was really odd feeling as the car didn't "bounce" and the steering feels slightly unresponsive turning left.

Back home checking I find the spring has broken at the 2nd loop and looking at the wheel arch you can see the gap to the tyre is marginal compared to the other side.

Got it booked into a local garage next week but was wondering how big a job it is replacing the spring?

Problems & Issues
Hi
I hope I have posted this in the correct place.
Be kind please... first post!

I have a very basic 1.4 petrol 2012 model just hit 70 thousand miles.
Well looked after. Serviced in house. Oil and filter changed about 500 miles ago. It was a mann filter used.

(Last car was a nissan k11 1.3 super s.. owned for 12 years and practically rebuilt body over that time until I could not spend another £ on steel!)

Jesse is nothing spectacular but has been reliable until this morning..

Im 5 weeks away from my due date on a mission to the recycling centre.
Chilly morning, jesse was a bit hesitant in the background but this is something jesse has ALWAYS had until she warms up.
Run...

Glow Plug
Hello everyone, I'm new to the club and I'm happy that i could join. :D
The things is , I already have a question for you, fellow i30 owners. I own (as my description says) a 2014 i30, 1.6 crdi (diesel), 5door wagon, (the 110bhp engine model). As I'm not a mechanic or anything close to it I don't know if I have a problem with my car's glow plugs or they should be just like this. My car starts very hard in the winter (in Romania around -5 to -10 degrees Celsius), even if i wait more than 10 minutes with my ignition(key position) ON . Many people told me that I should wait 2 to 3 minutes or less for my glow plugs to do the magic and warm the engine chamber to a temperature that helps the car start normally, this being shown by the glow p...

Headlight
Full story, short version.

Im driving down the highway, i blink left for lanechange, left side bulb blows (the one for normal driving light and high beam).
I buy a new bulb, change it and it works (not my first rodeo).
I then turn on high beam, but only the right side goes to high, while the left side beam stay on low.

Any takes on this?
I an hoping that theres seperate fuse for high/low and left/right, in which case it would be a simple and cheap fix,
but this is just wishful thinking on my part. The fact that right side go high and left side stay low seem to speak against this. atlest at face value.

Extra contekst: a week ago i had a good bump into another car. maybe such bumb could ha...

Brake Pads
Hi everyone,

I'm changing all the brakes on my Automatic 2014 1.6 diesel i30 and I cannot for the life of me remove the front brake disc. I've done this job on manual cars before.

I've removed the two screws on the disc, removed the m8 bolts at the back  below where the caliper bolts go as I saw that on a manuel online, and still stuck hard!

Am I missing something? I've tried putting the gearbox to neutral instead of park but nothing changed either.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Gearbox
Hi everyone.

First off, the TL;DR version (too long, didn't read):
-Replace Valve body and internal harnesses with new ones
-Putting the car in reverse took about 5 seconds
-Didnt want to change up gears as readily as it should along with odd behaviour
-Ended up in limp mode/gear 3 where reverse going in instantly, but with the typical thud
-Throwing error P0732 Powertrain - Gear 2 incorrect ratio

It's a Hyundai i30 diesel automatic, built in Feb 2011. 4 speed.

Just replaced my valve body due to the typical issues. Replaced it with part number 4621023020, a new one from sparekorea.com. Also replaced with two wiring harness as I had to fix them in the past due to bad solder joints. Fi...
