Phew.
Weather great here at moment so out again today for ride.

Before brexit happens and before the need to show passport ventured into Wales

Yeah. I think he's just being facetious.
Unless Wales decides to go it alone in the EU. Scotland is considering it.

Up and coming ride, the Noosa Strade Bianche. This is a event for steel bikes with downtube shifters. Stand by for a ripping yarn, its going top be brutal.

Latest ride yesterday was another trip into Wales.

Nice rice in Llandudno, up the Great Orme then along a coastal route to Conway.

Few pictures to enjoy.

You've met Bling. Now meet his brother Frank, a mid 80's Rossin Professional. Frank is a fairly original  specimen and was the top end road bike of the day. He's currently getting some new wheels, tires and gearing appropriate for vintage steel bike events. I'm planning to ride Frank a lot, but using the original drivetrain on modern wheels that handle and stop properly.

Nice, as long as she doesn't end up like that 20 year old broom on "Fools and Horses" that had 3 new heads and 4 new handles...  :snigger:

These are genuinely hand made bikes and the detail extends to the frame and paint. Its worn, but remains a beautiful thing. They really do need to be used rather than parked and admired.

Out and about today around Chester/Cheshire countryside/Welsh border area.

We linked 3 previous ride routes but when we got to Saltney Ferry footbridge on the River Dee we decided to take a chance on the Wales Border patrol as we didn't have our passports, so crossed the river into Wales.

Manged to dodge the patrols and headed back into England for our lunch at Chesters no. 1 chippy.

Few photo's to enjoy.

Out yesterday and rode the Tissington Trail and the Maniford Track in the Peak District.

Great views.

Came across Thors cave.

Also, check out the antisocial order plaque on the entrance to the disused railway tunnel now part of the Manifold track cycle way.

A new 800-mile mainly off-road cycle route between England and the north coast of Scotland has been launched.

The Great North Trail links the Peak District to Scotland's most northerly mainland points for the first time.

There's been less cycling than I'd hoped this year owing to a range of reasons, but mostly poor health. Nothing major, just colds and flu, but persistent.

As a result I didn't make it to the Noosa Strade Bianche, nor the Moreton Bay 100., two events I'd signed up for. The amount of Audax riding was minimal, but what occurred was excellent quality. And long hours at work meant there was a lot of sleeping in rather than rising early to go for a spin.  And sadly, Taupo in New Zealand is out also for 2019.

And so I've set out some goals for next year, and a little further out as well. Next year the focus will be on gravel and vintage events. Maybe more Audax on vintage bikes. To this end Frank is about to be upgraded since I broke a crank, and the opportunity presents itself to add some additional gears and fix a few things that needed attention. NSB will be in the list for 2020 of course.

Longer term is l'eroica in Italy, that's got to happen, it looks like an epic weekend.  But there's some work to do beforehand.

In other news I've acquired a better camera to keep up with Lester, a Sony RX100 M2. Light, good image quality and excellent battery life. All I need to do is get out and use it.

Frank's cracked crank - it is 35 years old.
