My neighbour is wanting to replace the above bulb but is having difficulties due to the space behind.

Reading thro' various online posts it seems a simple anticlockwise  (looking into the car) twist, pull and extract.

However, due to the space behind the lamp fitting it is nigh impossible to get your hand in.

Other posts say you have to remove the lamp unit completely.
He wants to avoid that as being an 07 plate, 2007, he is concerned any lugs holding the unit in place may be brittle and will snap off.

As a note the space behind the lamp unit on the offside is deep enough to extact the bulb but not on nearside.

Have any members done the above and if so how did you do it.

Cheers.

Would this be a case where the car battery is in the way? I can't do the nearside in the i30 without moving something.

The headlamp removal may seem extreme but sometimes what appears to be the longest way is the quickest and easiest.

Thanks for replies.

Will show them all to neighbour and once this crap weather we are having here subsides we'll have a go at changing the bulb.

One good thing is the MOT isn't due for, i think, 9 months so no immediate rush.
