About a month ago we got back after doing roughly 2500 kilometre road trip around Eastern Victoria. We did Western Victoria in April in a Rental Hybrid Camry and did this trip in our own i30 PD SR with DCT.  The Eastern Part of Victoria is very different to the Western side with the Towns being generally smaller and spaced further apart, but still quite a lot to see.

I took lots of photos and videos mainly with my phone and have just picked out a small selection to share.

To make it a bit easier to post I'll just put them in random order with a bit of a description.

Here's a couple of videos of Devonport taken from the Spirit of Tasmania as we left port.

Then a couple of waterfalls that were very easy to access. The taller one was called Agnes falls and the other one was Commonwealth Falls I think.

A cheerful yours truly (dimples and all) at the top of Mount Hotham with a little bit of snow.

A couple of Buildings at a place called Dinner Plain (an Alpine Village near Mount Hotham resort) We were surprised how big the place was when we started looking around.

Talking of Mount Hotham here we are parked up the top (Friend Russell's FD is in front of our car - they travelled with us for most of the first week)

Here are some pictures of a small town in the mountains called Omeo where we stayed one night on our way to over Mount Hotham. Omeo has a lot of Character.

This is a clock shop.

I'll put the rest in a 2nd post in case it times out!

Part two:

Firstly: Beechworth (a very historic old town)

Part of a replica street scene in Beechworth Museum

Another historic Town called Chiltern..

Looking from the entry of the Fairy Caves

One of the better formations inside the Fairy caves

Replica of the Ettamogah Pub

Cruise boat we went on to do a lap of Lake Mulwala

Bridge at Mulwala is dodgy mix as half built by Victoria and half by New South Wales.

A massive statue of infamous Bushranger Ned Kelly

Old Railway Bridge near Walhalla

A view of the Historic old Mining Town of Walhalla

Some colourful parrots at Walhalla

The old Gold Vault

A replica poster seen at Walhalla

The Urinal in the San Remo Hotel near Philip Island

A Mercedes racecar at the Philip Island Racetrack

Going under the swing bridge on another cruise near Sale

One of the many oddly named places in Victoria..

We even went to Winton Raceway for a look.

View of Melbourne from the spirit.

Nice view from Cowes on Phillip Island..

      The great Co. Durham.
Pictures are great Daz the best I have seen of holiday snaps.  The towns remind me a lot of cowboy places you see on the telly. Hitching rails and a few horses tied up would not be out of place.  Hope you both had a great time. :goodjob2: :goodjob:

Thanks, yes was a good trip although I think I liked the other side of Victoria more. I'm a city boy with a short attention span.

Our European settler history only goes back a bit over 200 years, so unfortunately we don't have the amazing castles and stuff like the UK, but these old mining towns and the like are fascinating to me.  :victory:

It's good to actually have an excuse to use some of the pictures rather than just archive them on the Computer. Some got posted to Facebook too.

I have a good Camera and also a good video camera, but mobile phones these days are amazing and so much more convenient.  :goodjob:
