Yeah. Although I don't doubt it will look great, I'm just wondering how it will be.

As before when you had:

and

And the interior.. Look at the Hemmi's interior and mine

Well, I like it, even the swoopy low bit at the mirrors.....

And I wonder if it's coming with a decent slush box instead of the old one that was stolen from Noah's Ark?

Also I spy a heap of extra buttons on the steering wheel, I wonder what they do?  :undecided:

Hmmm, keyless start too.......

I'm glad I got mine when I did... this one looks like it was designed by a teenager brought up on transformer toys.  Too many swoops and curves for mine. I'd prefer they look more to EU than Asia for their designs.

I prefer the simple refined (if conservative) look of the original.

Amen to that :goodjob:

Or, as a transformer teenager might say... +1

I actually quite like it.
But I don't think the two-bar grille does it any favours but would be better if horizontal.

I can see where you are coming from but (with respect) we need to take a realistic pill...

Hyundai needs to keep up with current and future trends (Ford Focus, Mazda 3 etc...) and I think this latest incarnation does that  :winker:

Who was that responding to Dazz?
I presume those who don't like it so much?
I don't mind the look of it myself.

Surely not? Maybe the original but this looks like pure oriental copy stuff. I've been looking at Japanese design for a long time and this looks typical (yeah I know its Korean but after all they are looking at topling Toyota so sensible they copy the Japanese), they (Asian designers) just can't help themselves with the flashy gizmos. A sort of throw-back to the American 60s cars. They on the other hand were original and in a (unique at the time) class of their own.

The best Japanese designs came from Bertone's Mazdas in the 70s. And he wasn't Asian.

And IMHO the Germans have it right, currently.

The improvement in Hyundai quality has had a bad effect on the price  :'(

Although i20 over here is now $15,990 drive away for 5 door which should get them moving  :goodjob:

Here's an article that mentions it being designed in Germany, pip....  :D

Yeah maybe... but whomever determines the design direction is certainly not looking at MB, BMW, Audi or VW for inspiration.

Frankfurt motor show 2011 - Hyundai i30
12 September 2011

Quote
This is Hyundai’s new i30, which will aim to offer Golf- and Focus-beating space and a higher-quality interior, when it goes on sale in spring 2012.

Designed at Hyundai’s European studios near Frankfurt, the latest i30 gets a new, longer chassis that’s designed to free up cabin space. Hyundai has yet to announce precise dimensions, but the company’s chief designer, Thomas Bürkle, has admitted that the wheelbase has stretched slightly for the new generation. Luggage space has increased too, by around 10%.

Thanks accim (very interesting)

From straight back on I didn't like it but from an angle it has really started to grow on me .. It is probably a bit more cohesive than the old hatch rear which took me a long time to accept.

Will it be available in cw, or will they keep that for the i40? I saw the live feed from germany somewhere online, when it was revealed but the audio did not work at first, wasn't anyone mentioning it.

Don't know the details (price) but if there was a nice looking cw, I might find the i30 more interesting than the i40. It seems lots of the great features of i40 is available for next generation i30 as well. The i40 is an awesome stationcar, but the size/length of the car I'm not sure about. When I went to the premier here, kinda figured out I'd rather have an ix35 if I was to trade in.

I guess there must be a CW too. But you never know, they just might, as you've said, pass that job to i40CW. I asked my dealer the same question and he also didn't know. He said it should be, but doesn't know if nor when.

But I have some good news about the grill. At least that sounds good news to me, as I didn't like the front grill that much. There will be 2 versions of the grill:

This one (type B) - which we've already seen:

and this one (type A) - the one I like more:

And some larger pictures:

Hehe, thanks :) Well the car is really interesting and honestly speaking, I found the source on one of the Slovenian automobile forums. A lot of interesting comments -> it's hard to believe that BMW/VW/Renault..., owners, like the car and are asking about approx prices, when it will come out and things like that.
