Hello,

I was looking at the Hyundai website and noticed it no longer shows the 2 door "special edition" i30 anymore... The SE model is now simply the trophy model which has 4 doors. Am i missing something?

I haven't seen it but it wouldn't surprise me if they discontinued it.
Hyundai do tend to play around with different models.

Ahh yes the "special edition"  reminds me of my days working for a large multinational electronics co. 

Special Edition =

Parent company: "Hey Australia (or other country with a strong market share), we have excess stock of model xyz we can't sell in country 123.  We have about 1000 pcs, can you sell these at the right price?"

Australian Subsidiary: "Yes sure we can, we have our EOFYS sale coming up and can get rid of these in one lot if we can sell them at $19,990 driveaway price"

Parent Company: "No we can't do this, because we lose money at that price"

Australian Subsidiary: "Your first loss is the cheapest loss, so we can make the problem disappear quickly."

Parent Company: "OK, let's go out for Karaoke"

They were imported from Europe, like the Tourer is.. Being a cheaper model, perhaps the exchange rate made the margins too thin...

Is that the only reason they had DRLs? That's very lazy of Hyundai! Why can't they ship some to Korea to install on all cars!! I thought the SE model also had a different grill and fog lights?

I love my 2 door. I would like the rear seats to fold flat though :-(

Thanks for that! Exchange rates make it hard for Hyundai Australia to offer them at a competitive price over here.
