Not all Beemer drivers are tossers, but this one is a contender

Giving way at a roundabout was a no-no for this guy, but to show his contrition he decided to play stoppy-starty

Not saying what the BMW driver did was right, but what about the Tool driving the car with the cam who for the life of me goes into a round about at that speed then half way around also changes lanes, over here that is Illegal as far as I know

In the UK at least :-
Left hand lane at a roundabout to turn left or go straight ahead where there are 3 possible exits.
Where there are 2 lanes, Right hand lane to turn right or return up the road you joined from.
Bit more complex where there are more than 3 exits at a roundabout but when not going left or straight ahead, some lane changing is inevitable, where the Right hand lane is correctly chosen, otherwise you keep going roundy - roundy - roundy...

I have watched this over and over(something was bugging me),this tool in the cam car also has a brilliant reaction time, for the way he drives,it took him almost fifteen seconds to say something about the BM driver just before the end of the clip,at least he was polite, sounded to me like he said "Thankyou Fool"

Where there are 2 lanes, Right hand lane to turn right or return up the road you joined from.

Also, for going straight ahead but you have to be alert in case there is a vehicle in the left lane going past the straight ahead to the next exit.

Follow the green arrow - you can/should change lane just before your exit

The 'tool' was probably dictating the beemers reg number into his voice recorder, in case his cam didn't pick it up on video

That's just a guess, mind...

The left green line may cut up someone who is coming from the north (straight ahead) and is turning left.

IMO the correct line is the outer, right hand, lane and if a coming together happened the guilty party may be the car which cuts into the left lane.

My pic was taken from the UK Highway Code, which also says you must always give way to traffic already on the roundabout, so a vehicle coming from the north cannot possibly be cut up, unless he drives a beemer, and doesn't give way.

I agree with what it says but I have seen what I describe happen nearly every day I travelled to work.

In these instances cars would exit from the north onto a clear roundabout to their right.

Direct view across the roundabout is blocked due to trees etc

As the road is a fast road, cars coming from the south would be out of sight until they actually turn the top of the roundabout.

I always took the right lane for safety.

It's interesting that the diagram shows a roundabout with two lanes of traffic on it and two lanes into it from each feeder road. But, there are no lanes marked on the roundabout itself.
Maybe Rusty can confirm it but my understanding is that in Oz, the lanes would be marked on the roundabout as well and you shouldn't change lanes until after you've exited the roundabout.
This enables you to goi through the roundabout to the right from the RH lane and people entering from opposite you in the LH lane can safely turn left without stopping, thus contributing to a smoother traffic flow. If you change into the left lane before or as you exit, chaos ensues.
The person turning right has his right indicator on, switching it to the left before exiting the roundabout and the person turning left has his left indicator on so both know what the other's intentions are.

looks like those roundabouts are the ones going from Westhoughton to Bolton under the Motorway....those roundabouts are a hazard waiting to happen, theres a bit where the roundabout gets split to 1 lane traffic, so 1 for the exit and 1 to carry on round and u get many pricks being in the wrong lane and cuts right across you just to carry on round the roundabout

sorry Steve but I have watched that video so many times,I could even see from the video it was clearly a two lane round about, you where clearly in the outside lane and clearly changed lanes once you had enterd the round about to attempt to over take the white car(the white car clearly negotiated the roundabout without issue)I am not saying the BM driver was right to do what he did,but from my persective only, you were also at fault, sorry but that is my opinion from what you yourelf posted.

:snigger: Eeezatool... eeezatool... he's Ebeneezer tool...  ;)

Fair play Steve...  :goodjob2:

Good recovery Rick  :goodjob2:

AFAIAC within reason it's those entering a roundabout that have to take even more care than those already on a roundabout. Give way to traffic from the RHS (UK) Must be thousands of people a day get onto roundabouts in every country not 100% sure which exit they need & how to safely position to get there. Drive with care & extreme caution at ANY junction. I treat ALL other road users as Tools... I'm invariably right more than I'm wrong, but what Steve did looked OK to me  :D
