Hi guys,

firstly sorry for my bad english

I have Hyundai i30 1.6 cvvt FD (2012, 1st gen after facelift) and maybe I have small problem.
After start engine and going into 2000 - 3000 rpm I hear something like metal resonantion from engine/chassis. In another rpm is everything ok. After few minutes (2-3, just little engine warm up) this noise disappear. This resonantion is hearable only inside car or from the side. In front of car with bonnet opened is nothing to hear, becouse engine is louder. Except for this noise is everything ok, no other problems. Distribution chain (I don't know correct english word) is new and valves clearance is ok.

I read about two possibilities:
1) It is normal property in CVVT engines
2) It could be broken catalytic converter (dangerous thing)

Do you have any experiences with this sound?

Maybe exhaust is close and touching something it shouldn't when cold, but moves clear after expansion when warm. It is worth a check.
