Hi There,
I have recently purchased a 2021 i30 N line premium sedan. A technical problem surfaced almost immediately as follows:
Park the vehicle and turn off. Exit the car and a warning comes up saying key not in the vehicle. Unable to lock the car until going through the start/stop process again whereby I can exit and lock.
The service department is keeping me waiting until January to have this looked at. Have only had the car 1 week.
Any ideas. ?  :crazy1:

Had this car for less than a week and already would not recommend it to anyone.
Now has malfunction indicator lamp on so can't drive it until some time next week when service centre opens.

Used Ron 91 instead of 95 or higher. maybe this is the problem? :-[

if ISG (Idle stop and go) if you have it turns the engine off when you stop you need to still press the button to stop or it will do as you describe when you get out. no Idea if you have ISG in your market.

What indicator lamp is lit?

Don't have ISG.   Indicator lamp says "key not in vehicle"
When this happens, if I press the start button again without starting the vehicle, then press stop again, I am able to lock as normal.

Not much action on this world wide forum.
I have been able to ascertain that if stop button is pressed before placing the gear shift lever in park, then it stays in accessory mode thus preventing the locking of the vehicle.

Read the instructions first it is said!

Silly knee jerk  premature comment which I totally recant.
Both minor issues have been resolved.
Service center could swat up on some technical operational  procedures but otherwise totally happy with a very nice vehicle. (so far)

Fair enough.
I was initially pretty well peeved. I had paid 40K for my first ever new car.
It was xmas time and it was sitting in the shed. Luckily I had not traded my old bus.
The service centre nor the sales reps could tell me I had to be in park before I turned the vehicle off to obviate the problem of not being able to lock the vehicle on exit.
Add to that, a small hose had blown off near the inlet manifold because a clip had been left off in the factory.
add to that, I was told that Jan 05 was the earliest the vehicle could be looked at.
I think my angst was justified.

A piece of advice for Hyundai. DEFAULT THE LANE ASSIST TO OFF, NOT ON.
