Another question about FD springs

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find anything.

I have a 1/2011 FD CRDi and would like to lower the car by a small amount and make it look a bit more level.

Am I right in thinking that either of these Eibach Pro-Kit sets would fit?

E10-42-016-02-22
Lowering Front (mm): 25 mm
Lowering Rear (mm): 20 mm

E10-42-016-06-22
Lowering Front (mm): 30 mm
Lowering Rear (mm): 20 mm

If so, does anyone have pics of these installed on a car?

Yes they are the correct kits, somewhere on the forum a member did the bigger drop kit a few years ago, personally I'd suggest the 20-25mm kit for less issues with camber and a better ride though the angles on the FD's aren't level like GD's so what ever kit give the flatter look would be best visually.

I did the 20mm all round kit on my GD 3dr and I'm very pleased with it :goodjob2:

In my old New Springs topic I found it :link: New Springs mrexcitment did the stage 3 drop kit with the CW which has 30-40mm front drop, might be the wagon difference but the gap over front wheels still doesn't match the rear.

Thanks guys. Are the Eibach springs much stiffer than standard? I think the standard ones are too soft, particularly the rear.

If not, I might hold off until I see what the 17s look like at standard height.

All lowered springs are stiffer, the lower the spring the stiffer they get which is why I only went for a 20mm drop, go to low on standard shocks and the shocks can also bottom out on larger bumps though eventually you’ll want to change shocks anyway as the stiffer spring will affect the shock rebound.

Any ideas for upgraded struts/shocks to suit lowering springs for the FD?

Interestingly, the Eibach springs I'm looking at are listed for both 1.6 diesel and 2.0 petrol. Are the engine weights really that close? I would've expected springs for the diesel to be a higher rate.

Pedders should have one's for lowered :link: Hyundai i30 2007-2012 FD Hatchback - Pedders Suspension, shocks, brakes give them a call to be sure, there are also coil over setups for the FD's as well by Tien - KYB - NeoTech - HSD, calling Lovells or another suspension shop should be able to provide some other options.
