Hi

I'm picking up a 2017 i30 on Saturday. I'm looking at roof bars for it. Does anyone know who makes them for Hyundai? I'm asking because non-dealer is usually cheaper but the Hyundai ones aren't a bad price. If they're made by a Thule or Atera or someone like that they might be worth it.

Does anyone know?

Thanks

Hello, I’m also picking up a 2017 i30 this week. Did you manage to find the roof bars? I’m currently looking.

Do you get the Prorack brand in the UK? they are the OEM brand used here :link: Roof racks for Hyundai i30 2017 | Prorack Australia

Thule also do a similar bar :link: Thule Edge WingBar | Thule | Australia

I swear by :link: Car Roof Boxes | Bike Racks | Roof Bars - The Roof Box Company, they've worked wonders for me over the years. So I was eyeing up what they had to offer. But I've also been watching the auction site and FB messenger. Managed to pick up a set of unused Thule WingBar Edge bars off Facebook for £120. There are a few pairs on both sites going for a decent price. Then you just need to get the foot pack.

Interesting about Thule, Craig.
When I bought my FD in 2009, I had a look at the OE branded bars and they were definitely ROLA.
I bought ROLA from a roof rack specialist for about a third of the price.
Incidentally,  Pro Rack is a New Zealand company.

They're branded as Yakima over here in the UK, and we have only one dealer. Cheaper than Thule and better apparently. :link: Yakima Whispbar Roof Bars | The Roof Box Company

They must have changed with the GD release as it was the Prorack brand Hyundai were supplying here, at a much higher premium than could be bought through the auto stores.

Maybe each dealer can choose which brand they want to stock/push :undecided:

Ah no.
These were branded Hyundai.
I just know what a ROLA  product looks like.
Mitsubishi among others had been doing it for years.  Back as far as 1988 that I know of.
But it was only the FD. I didn't pay attention after that.

From what I've seen the Hyundai i30 roof bars look very similar to Thule.  When I enquired about getting roof bars at Roof Rack Superstore Thule was recommended because it had the best fit for the roof profile of an i30.

Yeah. The PD version shown on HA website is almost certainly Thule.
