My father also drives my car and I've noticed what are possible grease marks on my seat...not happy Jan.  Anywho, going to maybe get the seat steam cleaned (good idea?) and put seatcovers on.  Is it safe to do with regards to the airbags?

Only neoprene covers are available, yes?  eBay selling for $205.  Am I going to get cheaper elsewhere?

In my FD, I got sheepskin seat covers from SuperCheap that featured tearaway sides for the side curtain airbags inside the seats. I haven't kept up with later models but they may be the same. :Dunno:

Just an update, got my seats steam cleaned (finally!) last week and they're back to looking brand spanking new!  Still haven't found any seatcovers yet.  I like them to be a snug fit without looking baggy, if that makes sense.

I'm sure there are custom material ones available for under a $100 a pair from ebay and via some of the bigger auto accessory places. They won't be baggy. If they are get a refund!

Dazz,

I think you mentioned a while ago that you have custom sheepskin covers for yours, can you remember where you bought them from ?
Reluctant to order sheepskins unless I can be reasonably confident the will fit well,
I had Supercheap sheepskins in my old Corolla and they were really good, but I think they may be a bit snug for the i30 seats.

Apologies if it wasn't you that mentioned them.

Hi mate, yes it was me. I got mine from Autobarn. They were 4 star custom made for $500 but apparently I was under quoted and they should have been about $700 same as supercheap quoted. Not worth that much.

I didn't think the seats in the elite would be as deeply bucketed as SR, if not then Supercheap  Gold or platinum for around $300 on special should be ok?

Interesting that Autobarn would have custom made covers, would have thought they would all be a generic fit cover similar to Supercheap.
I had the Supercheap Platinum covers before and was happy with on the old car.
When you said custom made I assumed you went to a specialist supplier somewhere.

I'll go over to Autobarn and have looksee what they have at the weekend or else might just try a Supercheap one again and return it if it doesn't fit well.

Both Autobarn and Supercheap have an arrangement with their supplier they can order custom made covers at added cost.

They don't carry them in stock. They took a couple of weeks to come. Supercheap quoted around $700 so i tried Autobarn and girl quoted only $500 for similar quality (so i jumped at it!)

When i collected them the girl was on day off and the two guys serving had a discussion saying she would be in trouble as she under quoted (should have been about $700) I basically got them for cost.

Unfortunately, The bases fitted nicely but backs weren't really a snug fit (not enough depth) but because I got them from Autobarn Burnie and I live in Devonport  and got them cheap, I decided to just live with it.  :spitty:

If Elite seats are less shaped than SR then off the shelf should be ok. Work fine on Trish's 2014 tourer seats.

Thanks for that comprehensive answer Dazz, don't know if I could justify $700 for covers though.
However, now I know what the deal is I  can be prepared for knowing what I am looking for now.
Might still try the Supercheap Platinum though, I know they accept returns if they don't work.

Yeah, they are the ones we usually get. often special out at 25% off. Worth waiting for the next deal. Might even be on special now for Bathurst Weekend!

Bingo! $299 (down from $399)
