Title: 2013 i30 SR Central Locking
Post by: Jingle on April 15, 2021, 09:43:24
I’m having issues with car continuously locking and unlocking.  Did it for about 5min twice today.  Managed to get in it to drive home after some effort.  Has anyone seen this and know what the issue might be.  I’ve got the mirrors off the auto setting now, thank goodness, but staying clear of the car as I can just see it starting again if I take the key anywhere near it.

No not at all.

In further developments after a few weeks the car battery has suddenly died prematurely.  It seems that this has been causing issues with the central locking.  At this point the problem has not reoccurred.  Thank goodness as central locking means big $$.  The battery is covered by the manufacturers warranty.

If there is something wrong with battery or alternator, it can cause a lot of extraordinary symptoms. Often non essential control modules start to act before car fully shuts down. I had a bad battery connection and first inficator was ABS light, not low battery light... Many electrical gremlings have been fixed with fully charged/new battery.
