According to some economists in the UK - Saudi Arabia started this spiral be reducing their oil prices to try and weaken Iran - which is working.

I guess the USA are going along for the ride (now that they are no longer dependent on oil imports with the success of fracking) to give the Russian economy a bashing.

The word is it is going to creep up a little bit in the next few weeks for us Aussies anyway. Increase in oil price and continued low Aussie $

:link: Petrol prices: what are the factors fuelling the national average?

Yeah, but you know how it works....... If the price of oil goes down wait until the cheap petrol hits the pumps before lowering the price, but when the price goes up raise the price of fuel at the pump immediatly.

Rotterdam has about 2 weeks supply in storage at any given time, so to raise the price that quickly proves somethings afoot.

Yeah, ours never came down as much as it should have (regional area) and it has already risen a couple of cents at some garages.

well i was in Sydney again for two week's, got BP Ultimate Diesel @ $1.19 per L i saw normal diesel @ $1.16 per L it seemed to be on a par with E10 in most area's i past through in Sydney. Premium petrol has gone up a lot but the Diesel still low.
Down the coast the price seems to be 10 cent's more but can't see any BP ultimate just the throthy stuff

2 pence does not sound like much? must be a pretty penny?

i remember when we had pounds shilling's & pence ( very complicated compared to  Dollar's & cent's. i think was twelve pence = one shilling , twenty shillings = one pound

plus if you lost your horse or any animal it could  end up in the pound

Cheers

when the money i was talking about was in circulation, a pound was worth double $us that's when the US economy was booming.
so do you just use dollar & cent's system too but call it pounds & pence? or is it euro?

Still using pounds (£) and pence (p).

Not the Euro in the UK

it is 100p + £1 (one pound)  not 240d which = the old £1
