Now this is probably a con job, but looks like a nice simple concept for small dent repair!

What it does is put two large dents in the car body where the support pads sit.

This does not actually remove the original dent - but visually masks it because your eye is drawn to the big ones.

I knew there was a reason I didn't get one, other than the fact we don't have any dents at the moment...  :victory:

There is a light tap down routine needed after you pull the dent out,. Need to reduce the stretch in the metal.

Don't think I would trust myself with it. Getting on a bit in age now and I can think back at all the times I said " wish I hadn't done that.  :D

I think I will pass on the Tazzie c'traption. But  my one is reasonably fool proof. I use it for the odd dent as long as it is just cupped (typical hail strike) with no crease through it, then it will pop straight back out.

I must admit I did take some interest in the contraption you have. Some time ago I stupidly rested my elbows on my roof of the i30 to lift some timber off my roof rack. This put a couple of dents in the roof but did not crease it. I was informed by a dent removal mob that it will probably need the roof lining removed. Knowing the slight dents are there I am the only one who notices them. :'(  I must get it fixed some time.

@Shambles. Brilliant, that is what my car would look like if I tried to remove a dent.

Thanks for the feedback Chris.. That price sounds more realistic. Not much of a dent in the wallet eh... :snigger:

Chris and John, have a look at some of the U tube demonstrations where the more professional guys are doing (PDR) paintless dent removal. After popping the hail dent out, they use a soft plastic drift and hammer to lightly tap around the edges of the repair which is usually slightly raised above its normal height. The tapping reduces stretch in the metal and the lump will become perfectly flat.

Incidentally, the chances of this working on the dented bumper in the advert are about 0 to -1.

Don't you need a hatgun and light pressure to bring back a plastic bumper?

Yeah.
One of those secret inventions,  the "hatgun". Brought to you by the same secret inventions factory responsible for Maxwell Smart's shoe phone.
