High Pressure Fuel Pump

i have a Hyundai I30 Diesel from 2010 and iam going to change the high presure fuel pump ( the one the chains feeds) do i need to time the fuel pump axel before i put the wheel on with chains? or do i just need to time the chain ?

No pump timing needed. Chain yes definitely.

Why do you want a new HP pump?  :Shocked: :Shocked: Rare (if ever) that they fail.   :undecided:

Actually Iam going to change the chain! And the pump seems old and rusty so Iam thinking about changing it. But how do i get the pump wheel of? I don’t have that special tool

If that doesn't work: 1. you could buy or borrow a special tool.  :victory:
                               2.  make one yourself.  ;)

Prayer -as in pray.
Might be better off just doing the chain as originally planned.
Wouldn't want to have a failure at removal and "F"it and be totally screwed.

But in order to change top and bottom chain. I need the dismount the wheel on the high pressure pump....otherwise I can’t get the chain of. And I can’t change all the wheels the chain goes on. My car have run 500.000 km.
