Hi I am about to service my 2015 i30  cdri tourer and need advice on changing the diesel fuel filter.
The filter is located behind the battery and ecu and does not have a hand primer on the top as on the earlier version.
I have attached an image to show it's location.
Any advise on replacement and priming will be a great help.

In short:
- take out battery
- unscrew bracket that ECU is hold to chasis
- move ECU with braket to the side
- disconnect sensors and fuel lines coming to and going out of filter
- unscrew fuel filter with bracket
- take out of engine bay
- unscrew water sensor on the bottom (careful not to damage)
- when you undo sensor, be prepared to catch some fuel coming from filter
- unscrew the filter
- replace the filter
- put back everything in reverse order
- using fuel syringe prime the fuel
- connect outlet back and try to start engine
- check for leaks

Factory level diagnostic tool also has an air removal function for this. basically runs the pump in the tank for 30 secs

 Use 20mm of thin wire !!!!

So he can just do the most practical thing : remove the fuel pump relay and use wire to briefly bridge the two PUMP contacts in that socket.

Just go round to changing the fuel filter, easy job to do when the battery is removed (you can see more). Primed the filter when bab ib the car using a mityvac pump, enging started first pop. Fuel in the old filter was nice and clean, no bits or water so all good.
