Yeah, I know, I know. I have actually purchased a pair of  TR928. looked ok and not the worst things I've seen for an Astra.

But that's about all a car of that pedigree deserves.

Lost interest looking at Kmart   at the moment ever since they removed pricing.

Hahaha. I'd forgotten about them.
When I was at Tyre and Tube Australia we were the Australian distributor for a Chinese brand of tyre called "Triangle". Very cheap. Then Goodyear did a deal with them to rebrand them as Diamondback for exclusive sale to KMart Tyre&Auto.
Tried to get Triangle to stop supplying us. The Chinese are nothing if not disloyal. Kept supplying us. Still do AFAIK.

Just as a PS
Triangle does make excellent earthmover tyres.
I fitted a set of 205/55R16 to my Subaru before I left Sydney.
Replaced them about a month after getting back to Qld.

Just some feedback on tyres. I've been watcing Tyresales.com.au for a while and it's an interesting setup. pay and book online, choose a local fitter.

Prices are keen with regular specials. It appears they rotate through the various lines adjust prices down and up quite regularly in fact it pays to look daily.

Toyo have a $100 cash back on 4 tyres 16" and over, perfect for the i30. Kind of shot myself in the foot on that one. At one stage with the price discount a set of 4 would have come in at $364 Proxes C100+.  But after a week or so they jacked the price up and that $100 discount  now puts them at $416, still good.

anyway, The fronts were on the line and rear have some miles left so I stuck with Kumho Solus KH17. Nothing special but wear well.

One thing I noticed after getting them, Made in China.

also currently trying out some jax specials Achilles 2233. Indonesian, $85 each . Early days but feel ok and grip also ok in the dry.

Will get some miles up and wait for the heavens to pour to see how they are.

Treadwear rating for both the Kumho and Achilles is 400

So these I've seen range from $104 - 128 on tyresales. Currently they're up to $106 and expect they're cycle back up again.

Since KMart are adament at beating anyone , $104 turned into $99. Diamondbacks quoted $95.

So my tip is watch your favourite tyre and see if they drop on Tyresales then hit Kmart up.

Added bonus is the Tyrelife, free rotate and balance every 10000k for 2 or more tyres purchased.

Thanks Gerard,

We shouldn't need tyres on either of our cars for a couple of years, but my car nut mate says there are currently some Michelins (Pilot something - I think) that are really kicking arse in several areas.. Wear, quietness, grip etc... Probably be something different in two years time.

Is this any help?

:link: Tyre reviews: best car tyres 2017 | Auto Express

Yes, thanks. Definitely a help. Pity Michelin were between models because the Sport 3 and Sport 4 would have rated well by all accounts...
