I have a 2015 IX 35 and cannot adjust the volume on the GPS the slide stays in the middle and cannot be moved. Is this a problem I can fix myself

There will be differences between other model head units, you might have more luck looking on a forum that discusses your model (IX35) though being you have a 2015 model under warranty I'd take it back to Hyundai for them to look at first...could be a firmware update needed that might fix a problem or if faulty it may even get replaced

Try using the volume controls while the GPS is announcing something - that's how it works on my i30.
