I finally bought the scuff plates I've been eyeing off for 5 years :happydance: cant buy the bloody things here as Hyundai Australia never stocked them for the 3 door and no ebay listings either :head_knock: so managed to eventually get a UK parts company to order them for me from Mobis parts Germany.

Yeah I'm waiting to get these for the PD. There's a backorder in Australia but a whole shipment is expected in the next ~3 weeks.

What price did they quote you for genuine set of 4? Wonder if they say SR or just i30. I'm 99 % certain the GD or even the FD ones should fit the PD. I'm a bit tempted to just get some non genuine off Ebay if there is a lot of difference in price.

I think the standard price is $125 for the set of 4... and to my knowledge they only say i30. If you can get them as part of an Ebay 10-20% discount, then it's down to the $100 range.

The RRP for them fitted is like... $161?

I am hoping to bite in conjunction with some of the on again/off again Ebay EOFY discounts.  They've already had 2-3 quick ones, but I'm sure we'll see some more in the next fortnight.

Cheers for that. I've had an expensive month (over $2000 in travel costs paid in advance) so i might wait a bit. They are easy to fit. I put some on one of my previous cars.

If you like cheap can always get 3rd party for $26, I don't think there would be any difference in GD to PD :link: Stainless Steel Door Sill Scuff Plate Guards Sills For Hyundai I30 2009-2013 | eBay

@Dazzler I wonder if these :link: Hyundai i30 Door Entry Guards 2017 Onwards are the same as what will be available here, they're not SR embossed though very smart looking, price is up there plus another 30GBP for shipping which is what I ended up having to pay, not much choice on the 3dr unfortunately.

Just checked the Styling section on Hyundai Australia's website and they're the same, no listing for SR versions unfortunately :disapp:

Thanks Craig,  if I get some I'll just go with the $26 ones from China.  :winker:

Iv'e been looking as well.  But as many have said, not cheap.
I didn't know about these ones until I read this thread..    So I brought these. For the price I thought I would give it a go.
Will post up on how they fit with photos...    :goodjob2:

Using recent eBay (Australia) promotions I've just placed a back-order for the scuff plates at $106.25 AUD with free shipping.  I'll report back once I get them.

Still waiting on mine, they're somewhere flying over the ocean at the moment...hopefully they don't end up in it

Scuff plates turned up this arvo, was a bit surprised at first as the design is different than what was advertised but after several emails it was confirmed Mobis did a design change unfortunately  as I did prefer the previous style :(  they still look quite good if just a little more plain.

How did you come up with that conclusion Einstein  they are exceptionally light weight and they replace the plastic guards which when I compared I couldn’t feel any weight difference.

 Jeepers! I had 200 kgs of extra passengers and over 100 kilos of luggage on a recent 4 day road trip and that only made .1 litres per hundred kilometres difference.  I  doubt 4 scuff plates (or two in Craig's case) could add any more than a kilo of weight if any!  :crazy1:

I can only assume that comment was made tongue-in-cheek...  but humour is sometimes lost in one-line posts.

I worked out later it was done at 3 or 4 am, so maybe Jeff had had a few cold ones.. or was sleep walking! I hadn't considered it being attempted humour!  :-[
