Radio worked yesterday but kept popping an shutting off, worked fine this morning and now nothing at all. Any ideas?
-
Have you checked whether other accessories still work? if they do then I suspect your radio is kaput :(
-
Is it just radio function?
Are other functions on the unit working ok?
-
Was fine just kept cutting off. Next dsy worked fine i the morning but then when went to use car later on it did not turn on.

That's not much info. Can you upload some video?

So the complete unit isn't turning on..... Radio media phone etc?
Have you checked the fuse?

Have you checked the fuse?
That's why I asked whether the other accessories are still working, if they aren't it would be the fuse...if they are then the radio is shot.

A bit of early speculation: being an '08, it may be suffering some dry joints, hopefully limited to connectors or fuse box. Morning is cooler, afternoon a little warmer, temperature variation may be enough to influence a dodgy joint.

Sorry what do u mean dry joints and dodgy joints. Worked again this morning then cut off again.

Put simply
When cool the connection inside the unit are touching and so making contact.
When it warms up "gaps" appear so the contacts are not touching so the circuit is broken.

Thanks makes sense now is it an easy fix and what kind of cost.

If the Radio has died due to dry solder joints then it's unlikely to be economically repairable unfortunately.
It's obviously not a fuse if it is intermittent (a fuse would have probably been your cheapest and easiest thing to fix)
Your best bet might be to try and source a replacement from a wreckers/breakers yard with a bit of warranty. Doesn't sound like you are a DIY person, do you have a friend that is who could help you switch it out if it has died.

Before writing off the whole radio, when it's the afternoon / not working, get your hand under the dash and jiggle the cables. See whether you get any life out of the radio. Dry joints don't just occur inside it.
