Hello I have been posting about this problem in the past and I know others had the same problem
Last time I didn't really solve the problem, but now I want to try once more. Here is the problem:

There's lack of heat on the right/ passenger side
There's significant temperature difference between left and right side
I feel the air-blower is weak on both sides, but not sure
There's a small leakage of coolant, so i must apply about one litre a month

The temperature in engine seems to be in order
The heat core inside cabin gets really hot, as it should
The coolant fluid is new

I believe the water pump is worn out and my plan is to replace it
But...
Is there something else I shold look at or test before I do that ?

Hi, rings a bell.
If core is very hot, would assume  hot coolant is making it to core, so pump OK.
Try closing left side vents and see if right warms up.
Is rhs cooler/weak on all air direction settings including recirc & fresh .?
You feel air flow is rather poor,  is cabin air filter blocked obstructed.?
Also check at floor level that return intakes are not clogged with anything.
Other than that I'm stumped

I recall translating a similar case from the Spanish i30 forum and unless I'm mistaken the problem was somewhere closer to the heater core or flap actuators.

I have now done some tests. The heater core is not clogged and the water pump works, but poorly
So I have order a new water pump for replacement.
But this would not affect the rather poor air-flow, other that the temperature if i am lucky

Torch and a usually an uncomfortable position, trying to look up all the vents.

Mick gives the most practical answer/ advice.

Jarlef your post is a reprise of an earlier one where someone with great wisdom pointed out to you that you have heat on one side therefore the water pump is ok. The pump is not usually selective, unless the passenger has really pissed it off.

We had a member from Denmark??? with exactly the same problem. He was convinced that the radiator hated his girlfriend. I think he replaced both of them.  Now has a cold empty passenger seat.

I probably shouldn't encourage you,  but I have to pay that one..

The waterpump was clearly worn out, but still kind of working. After the replacement of both drive-belt and waterpump there was a significant improvement in both hot air and cool-air (?)
But the difference between right and left was still unchanged

I just found out why the air-blow was weak, and I am not proud that I haven't thought of earlier...
The cabin filter was clogged by birch-seed, hair and all kind of dirt. After I removed the filter, the air-blow became twice as strong. Now I will buy a new one..

Nice you got it sorted. How many kms your car got? Based on the condition of the water pump, it looks like it has missed one or two coolant change in the past. When I changed my coolant pump at approx 155tkm it looked more like the one on the left (new) rather than your old.
