Hi all,

Recently my boot is not unlocked when I unlock the doors (via the remote) I can only open the boot if I hold the middle button and lights flash.

Tried both set of keys. Not sure why this is happening.....

Can't recall this being reported before.

Is there warranty left?

If so ask dealer to look

Nah no warranty left its a 62 plate. I've not had a great run with this car, within 6 months of purchase I had to replace both rear calipers, discs and pads. Think I picked a lemon, pity cause I do like the i30 and its drives well...

tbh the dealer wasn't the best, might find a local man to have a look.

Tiny bit of inconvenience I guess, but for the sake of holding another button for a few seconds I'd just live with it rather than incur a cost for a diagnosis and repair.

If the actuator stopped working altogether that would be a different matter entirely.

I know you say works when pressing middle button but try a squirt of wd40 just in case each button activates different gismo bits in the lock unit.

:whsaid: but for a different reason:

If it works when activated alone but not with other actuators, then I see it capable when given full voltage as the only load, not shared among four others. It may be getting a little current hungry in its old age but the squirt of WD40 is my first tip towards having it play well with others.
