Hi, I'm needing three new tyres for my 2009 i30 1.6 crdi premium. So 245/45/17 anyone got any suggestions of what tyres to go for in the UK?

Are you sure 225's are the correct width you need, do you have aftermarket rims? 225 aren't a stock sizing on i30's.

Why only three tyres :undecided: to keep all tyres equal and safe 4 would be needed and keep a healthy spare in the boot.

225/45/17 is the standard size tyres for that car. I've put my reg in to a few online tyre shops and they all say the same. It's what's on the car now.

Unusual to have 8" - 225 tyres unless it's been upgraded, I thought stock on those was 195 to 205

Why do you think 225/45-17 is unusual..? It's even possible to buy HY alloy's for the PD 7x17" with 225/45-17

225/45-17 is a very much used size around here for people wanting to upgrade a car born with 195/65-15 or 205/55-16 like both the FD and GD

I do agree about getting 4 new tyres to ensure same pattern and grip on all wheels..

Unusual as I didn't think the vehicle comes stock with that size on an FD :undecided: 7x17 rims should take 215 tyres to my knowledge .

Can obviously fit the larger 225 to a 7" rim but that would generally give a lot of sway/roll in cornering I'd think.

I've got 8x18 wheels on mine which fit 225 tyres and the stock wheels were 6.5x16 with 205 tyres.

It's stock, just check the spec of the UK premium model. Found tyre spot to be pretty good, quoted me £179 for four tyres and taking

Agreed.
FD specs for Australia list 225/45R17 tyres.

      The great Co. Durham.
I always use Tyre Shopper they are part of National tyres. Buy online pick a time and date fitting at your local Ntional Tyres. Changing mine later in year I go for the Goodyear Efficient grip.

@ABSi30 I'm thinking about getting those tyres too, alternatively the Dunlop Sport BluResponse.

Good to hear about Tyre Shopper too :goodjob:
