I drove up to Three Springs yesterday with a friend who bought a car up there.
"Jean" went very well. For the first couple of hours she averaged 3.9 l/100 kms and then when we got into the undulating country of the mid-west region, it started to creep up a bit. All at the speed limit.
We went there via Great Northern Highway to Bindoon, then cut across to Moora and on to Three Springs.
On the way home, we drove west from Three Springs to Eneabba then further west to Lehman and home via Indian Ocean Drive and then finally back on to the freeway and home to Pinjarra.
Trip computer stats:
Distance 849.7 kms.
Average speed 90 km/h (mostly at State speed limit of 110 km/h +).
Drive time 9 hours 58 minutes.
Average consumption 4.6 l/100kms.
Odometer at trip end 223194.
All well within one tank of course, still with plenty left for another week or two of driving around.

Pretty close, @CraigB. I left Pinjarra early at about 0615 and then we departed from Bateman at about 0730 and got back to Bateman at 1808. Although I wasn't home until 2315. 
I said I thought it would be an 850 km trip and it came in at 849.7.
