Gearbox
Dropped my car off at the dealer for a fuel issue (see other thread) they’d told me it had a loud noise suspected diff when it had been in a few days ago. Drove a day or two and it developed the fuel issue so dropped it back. Got a phone call today to say they went to test drive it and I no longer had a 5th or 6th gear, which is odd as I did when I dropped it off.
Anyway it had warranty so potentially covered, but Hyundai want £3k+ just for a new box plus labour (more than the cars worth)
Anyone have experience with having a 6 speed box rebuilt on the D4EA engine? Hoping to have it done and fitted for under £1000 in which case they’d probably pay...

Bluetooth
Hi Everyone,  I own a 2018 PD2  i30 SR and a Samsung 8+ phone. Whenever i attempt to play music from my phone over the car stereo via  bluetooth it skips and shudders like an old discman or knocked record. I've tried setting the bluetooth so it excludes contacts and phone, tried different music apps, turned off the NFC chip and wireless, cleared the bluetooth cache and unpairing and re-pairing the connection. I even had the local Hyundai service centre take a look at it but it's still doing it. Anybody else been having this issue and if so have you managed to fix it?

Handbrake
Hi

I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I could get a new handbrake button (the little chrome button) that you push in with your thumb to release the handbrake.

My stepdaughter just bought a 2007 petrol I30 and I noticed this button is missing, I then drove my 2010 diesel I30 and mine fell off in my hand.

Have searched ebay with no luck and I believe Hyundai will only supply the entire lever (although I have not checked with them yet)

Any help appreciated

Cheers
Steve

Air Con
Hi folks
WA is a warm place in summer and you really notice when your air-con stops doing what it needs to do !
A couple of weeks ago mine gave up the ghost.
It took a couple of 15 k rounds trips twice a day in the early morning and late afternoon to really know this wasn't going to get any better and in the end actually did nothing other than blow out warm air at the temperature outside.
On inspection I felt lucky to hear the compressor was still running, all bar very noisy and also noticed a slightly green wet ring around a rubber junction hose just below the blue removable H cap on the discharge line.
I took the car into an air conditioning specialist in Perth who immediately said "that's your problem mate - ...

Dash Cam
I want to start by saying a massive thank you to all of you on there for the advise and assistance.

Dashcam
I decided to go for the Viofo A119 v2 (front only cam) as it seemed a really good camera for the funds I had available to invest at this time. I decided on the one with GPS and the Anti-glare filter.

Memory Card
I went with the VIOFO 64GB High Speed MLC Micro SDXC U3 Memory Card (lets hope this is ok long term). I purchased this card from Amazon UK. ( :link: VIOFO 64GB High Speed MLC Micro SDXC U3 Memory Card: Amazon.co.uk: Camera & Photo)

ABS & disks
Last week I was breaking from about 60 mph when in dry conditions I crossed a strip across the road of different material and the ABS activated. The strip was only a foot wide so the ABS was not needed. The ABS then didn't reactivate the brakes, so I basically had no brakes.  I was braking moderately at the time but had to press quite hard on the brake pedal  to reactivate the brakes.  By the time I had reacted and the brakes had reacted I must have travelled 50yds or so without braking.
This is the 2nd time something like this has happened and it was very scary.  I took it to the local main dealers yesterday and they could not find any fault with the ABS.
Has anyone had a similar problem and if so did you get it fixed.

Bluetooth
Hello this is my first post. I have been looking at your forum for a few weeks now and have made the plunge to post my first post. I have trawled the internet, asked dealers all to no avail, so I’m hoping that someone on here can answer my question regarding Hands-free Bluetooth Calls.
If I have my Samsung S8+ phone in my car, with all of the latest updates, in a 2018 I30 PD2. When I am  connected to Bluetooth I am able to receive calls via the head unit as I would expect. I can answer the phone and hang up using the steering wheel controls and speak hands-free with the caller. No issues at all. However, if I try to initiate a call using the Voice Recognition button on the steering wheel, I get a message on my head-unit saying that “[b...

Immobiliser
Hey guys.
I'm a new member although I have followed quite a lot of the posts on this forum since I've owned my I30 over the years.

I've searched high and low on the internet and through this forum and I haven't been able to find much about my issue at all. so I thought id ask the experts (you guys)

Basically, the immobilizer dash light is on permanently at the minute. It is even on with the key removed from the ignition. and my car will not start.

I had the Roadside recovery guy out to see if he could start the car, he couldn't. He did pull me some codes, however.

The code's I am getting are;
P1690 - Immobilizer Smartra Error. < the Culprit.

Also, two other codes whi...
