Door Locking
I recently discovered on my 8 month old I30 that when using the key to lock the doors it only locks the drivers door. Assuming a faulty central locking mechanism, I took it in for warranty repair, only to be told that this is how all i30's work. The mechanics were baffled and replaced the mechanism to no avail. They checked online and came up with nothing. Checking other new i30's they found they all works the same way. Obviously a design flaw in the new model I am told, but people need to be aware. If your remote key fails, you have no way to secure the car manually.
Unless someone out ther knows differently.

Hi all!
I have had my i30 for 4 months now and have done 4K miles in it (total mileage now 18000).
It had a full check by a independent technician when I brought it and a service in late December that again states clutch was okay.
Since I have owned the car I personally have found the car when pulling away would judder a lot like I wasnít giving the car enough gas, and occasionally when in 2,3 or 4th gear it would over Rev like it hadnít engaged the gear correctly.
This morning I was unable to change from 2nd to 3rd and had to pull over to give the car a moment to allow me to engage a new gear.
Also the over reving was near enough constant.

I spoke to Hyundai customers services, they stated that the clutc...

Brake Pads
I've posted on this topic before and was wondering what mileage people are getting from their pads and rotors. A couple UK readers claimed about 200,000 miles from both pads and rotors (how I wish)!

My i30 has about 23 000 km on the clock and the service guys tell me the brakes are 80% worn and will need attention soon. The pads look about 50% worn whilst the rotors appear almost unmarked with a barely discernible ridge.

What mileage have other drivers got from their pads and rotors?

2012 Hyundai i30 Elite (1.6 Auto)
90k's. fully serviced and only recently out of warranty

I noticed my check engine light very occasionally came on, typically after driving the car a bit harder.  I bought a ODB2 reader and I can see this error.

:link: OBD-II Trouble Code: P0341 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Range/Performance

I'm not stressed as it's just an alert saying timing wasn't perfect (plus the fact it only occurs when I hit it hard but I thought I should ask.

My fuel economy does suck on the car (9L/100) and I have had the occasional hard start issue (push button doesnt start, I need to press it again).  The car is due soon for a...

Fuel Economy
Hi all. This is my first time on the forum, so iím sorry if this topic has been brought up before.

A couple of months ago i bought a brand new i30 1.6 110 Diesel DCT. And iím generally pleased with my first 10k km.

However, iíve noticed that my fuel consumption is poor whenever iím in the 7th gear. And i donít understand why.

Cruising with 110km:
7th gear - 16km/l (~2,200 rev)
6th gear - 18 - 20km/l (~2,500 rev)

Same thing happens at 130km, just with slightly lower km/l numbers for both gears.

Has anyone tried the same, or even heard of the 7th gear performing bad in terms of fuel consumption? Could it be a software problem? Or do i perhaps need to run another 10k km to break ...

Check Engine Light
Car is a 2014 i30 Auto Diesel 128HP GD2 Model bought a few months ago(Ex Ausgrid car with ~35k kms on the clock) ~45k kms now..

Problem: (Sorry for the long post but I'm trying to think what are the right steps to take)
2 days ago car gets stuck middle of the street while attempting to park in driveway(had to be pushed/parked by hand on the street),  engine was turning and at one point briefly started yet stopped when engaged in gear. Left it for about an hour and tried again, after a couple of tries managed to start, quickly engaged gear and drove into driveway. Engine management light came on and stayed on while car was operating.

I've read everything I could I think on this issue on these forums and ordered a ...
