 Almost 1.3million British drivers don't even know how to open their bonnet

Survey of more than 18,000 motorists has found that many can't do simple tasks

Some 4% can't open bonnet and a quarter can't top-up oil or change wiper blade

Many of these maintenance checks are part of a section in the new driving test called 'show me, tell me'

My Daughter Ashley is a car person, She can identify the various models of Nissan Skyline, Lusts after a Focus RS and an i30N, etc.. But would be the first to admit she knows nothing about mechanical stuff like kilowatts or brake calipers.. Not sure how she would go with maintenance items (not very good I suspect)
