Hi, there is a problem getting the car in to reverse without crunching the gears. It has occasionally happened in first but mostly reverse. I would say about 8 out of 10 times it occurs.
No other problems with the gears. I changed the gearbox oil but no success. Car is 2012 GD blue drive manual with 86,000 miles on it.
I know in the FD it appears as things get on the clutch fails to disengage completely or drags a bit. assuming the design in GD is similar sounds like it could also be suspect. Reverse being a non synchro gear you will get a grind going as opposed to the forward gears which you've likely felt notchy or stubborn to get in to.
Don't have a solution but the damper on the hydraulic circuit has been theorised to go soft internally and reduce pressure and travel at the end point. Some have removed it and blanked it off with a sump plug.
It is frustrating that there is no way to adjust the system at the clutch pedal, not that I can see.
