Hey guys,

I was just wondering for all of you that haven't received your i30 as yet having trouble getting you vehicle? I am suppose to be picking me car up on Friday, but they have now come back to me and said that it wont be now for another 2 more weeks due to mainly going through quartine. They say holden is having the same problem, but OMG the car has already been here since the 26th of June.

Does anyone know what is really happening with this?

According to dictionary.com, quartine is the 4th integument of an ovule, counting from the outside. If your car really has had to go through a giant raw egg they're probably still valeting it. You ozzies have such weird import regulations.

However, if it's a normal size egg they'll have had to dismantle the car to get it to go through the quartine, so they may still putting it back together again - Could take ages mate.

Another possiblity is that eggs are on back order.

Personally I don't believe the quartine story and I'd get beck to the guy who told you it. The car's probably still on a boat.

Glad I didn't offend you BJ  ;)

Fingers crossed you get your car asap - I know it's no help, but this is such a common experience with ALL car manufacturers and their dealers throughout the world. If you don't want a colour/spec that just happens to be available immediately you just have to wait and wait - and wait. It's a foretaste of what hell will be like. Perhaps if we all say a prayer at the same time?

Are you sure it's actually in the country? If it is, I'd get your dealer to attempt some serious a*se kicking, by suggesting you may go elsewhere.

Good news BJ - it will seem like eternity, but spend the time letting your dealer know you're a fussy b*****d and tapping them for as many freebies as poss - for example, we got an extra tank of fuel because we were unhappy that the car was a day late!
