Looking for some advice on this one.

I am looking to put an Android Auto head unit into the car, but the big problem is the trim. Looking on here, and good old eBay it would seem I have two options:

1. Buy a full trim kit, costing many £££'s
or
2. Buy a more generic kit and go at the current panel with a saw, costing a bit less.

I have noticed some complaints of the full kits not fitting well and others saying they work great. One issue I have found already is the lack of any in RHD.

So, the question is this, for those that have retrofitted a double din unit, which option did you go for? And indeed did it go well, would you do anything differently?

Reckon once I have that not sorted, wiring it up etc should be relatively straightforward (famous last words).

Thanks in advance :)

why not install the android auto unit that comes with the later model GD,  it comes with a 7 inch screen, you won't need to hack the trim and it's cheap as chips to buy?

the headunit in Australia is called the GD-03 and can be sourced quite cheaply from the wreckers!

Plus there are several threads about changing it over in the audio modifications section of this forum.

I would go for that, and would be my preference to stay with Hyundai stuff. However the car is the older version of which I can not locate any manufacturer radio that would fit. Not even Bluetooth :(.

Sorry, you didn't have the year in your previous signature. You might be best to talk to a local audio specialist and see what options they suggest.
