Do they even have updates for a 2008 model :undecided: you can try searching here  :link: Hyundai | Software Update | HERE (http://hyundai.navigation.com/cms/page.softwareupdate/en_GB/HyundaiEMEA/GBP)

You should contact Hyundai Customer Care for their advice.

My guess is that you have to go to the dealer - previously it cost £139 from HERE mapping which is now owned by a consortium of VW, BMW and Mercedes.

Beware the dodgy free downloads you may find on the internet. They invariably either don't work at all or a con with very old data. Even worse they may carry malware that infects your computer.

Hence why the download page I supplied is from Hyundai UK :D contact links are at the bottom of the page :goodjob2:

@CraigB - the link you provided I think you will find, is for the navigation software and not the maps.

I am well out of date, but when I changed to KIA, was it 3 years ago?, HERE had recently changed hands and no longer sold the maps directly to users. When you went onto their map download page it directed you to go see your Hyundai or KIA dealer. I suspect, but don't really know, that the situation remains the same.

At that time, the sat nav software and maps were both provided to Hyundai by HERE (and to several other brands I might add). There was a pause in supply for several months and much confusion with rumours they had changed to Tom Tom but I don't think that happened and the HERE maps were retained but now only sold via the dealers. The map update for my Niro costs £25 from the dealer - a snip compared with the £139 HERE used to charge for a self instal memory stick.

The above comments are confined to the UK - I have no idea of the situation in other markets.

@AlanHo I initially thought it related to updating the whole lot, unit software/firmware and maps but maybe not :undecided: quite a large download file at 778mb.

There is mention of Here Maps in the links at the bottom of the page for the Here Maps blog which will likely have the current updates mentioned plus the direct Hyundai contact link, hopefully there's enough info obtainable on the page to fine all the answers needed.

Does it show which period the update is?

It has been reported it may be 18/24 months old

And? How it looks and feel? Is there any big diference from older software or it is just some minor improvements?
