I bought an i30 last week and the thing has been running well and acting normally.
I'm guessing this is a complete coincidence but, I pulled a few fuses including the memory fuse yesterday (don't ask why)...
   today my car won't start.

It is turning over so the battery and starter seem fine.
At first, the engine almost caught, but stopped. Now there isn't even a sputter as the starter cranks and cranks and cranks...

There are no warning lights on.
I guess the engine is either not getting any fuel, or not getting any spark. I'm not smelling any gas though.

Could anyone give me some tips on diagnosing this issue?

Now that I think of it, I also changed the plastic outside to the key fob. Is it possible that transplanting the circuitboard somehow caused a problem?

How does the car act if I use a key without the appropriate chip? Would it turn over but not ignite?

Hopefully you transplanted the transponder chip as well as the more obvious chip?

Use our search feature to locate "transponder"

There you have it...
I didn't realize that there was a separate transponder from the board.
Thank very much for the link @Shambles!

haha...
luckily it was still on the table. Did some serious demolition work on the old shell to extract the chip and all is well now.
