Hi, FD wagon, missing a sensor,
thats not the issue.. its a hi km car, no need for sensors, i do require some assistance to try and complete the electrical circuit.
When i select reverse, beep beep,,,,, beep beep,,,, beep beep... then its good
same sound source as the sensors in a close proximity condition.
i wish to disable altogether or atleast maybe some advice on which of these 4 wires to join to shut the beeps up
appreciate any help

why not simply disconnect the beeper in the dash?

I think if you disconnect that main unit which is housed possibly behind the left corner trim in the back that also would silence it. Buzzer should be in behind the centre portion of the console around the ashtray, and lower compartments

Would there be a fuse you can pull out?

I think if you disconnect that main unit which is housed possibly behind the left corner trim in the back that also would silence it. Buzzer should be in behind the centre portion of the console around the ashtray, and lower compartments
disconnected the main unit, fantastic. no more beeps, also an issue was reverse would not engage untill beeps had finnished.. Now theres no beeps, reverse engages much quicker

High mileage unit you say and delayed gear engagement. I'm afraid that unit has absolutely no connection to the transmissions behaviour other than detecting a sense from the reverse lights to activate it.
Delayed engagements can be early signs of valve body or other internal transmission issue. When was the transmission fluid last chanaged and flushed out? Is it a pinky colour or browny black?

there is no delay now, whereas before, reverse did not (begin) engage at all untill the series of beeps had ceased, roughly 4 seconds atleast.
I have read about delays and seems there are a few diagnosticians regarding the issue, mostly it seems mechanical (valves) and the minute electronic...

Makes no sense, there's no signal or communications from this back to the TCU. It simply slaves 12V of the reverse lamp cct to activate, if there's a sensor fault then it goes into the fault beep scenario below but that's it.
so the series of beeps would have been due to the missing sensor.
A. Left sensor failure : beep-beep-beep
B. Center sensor failure : beep beep-beep beep-beep beep
C. Right sensor failure: beep beep beep-beep beep beep-beep beep beep
May be coincidence but it your happy and it 's working better that's all that matters. I hope it continues for you but I'm very intrigued with what you are saying.

Quick way to find out... Disconnect your middle sensor. See if it does the same as mine was doing, ie no reverse engage untill beeps are done

Don't worry I was thinking of that, just not sure how hard it is to get to it. If I can get to it I'll have a go . Love science experiments except when they catch on fire. :goodjob:

plastic shield off, (3 x 10mm nuts, and 5 or 6 plastic clips...) and u can get to the plug (cant really see it tho)

I just had a look and after reading what you said, I'm not keen enough. Not long had this car back from the Panel shop and had this new bumper fitted from a small biff. And discovered about 4 clips are missing but that's the standard these days.
