Keep in mind factory nav systems in all brands are generally a year behind products like Garmin - Tom Tom - Waze - Google Maps - Apple Maps.

Mine has just had it's first month inspection and I didn't think to ask about this, although I think that service is just a very basic lookover to make sure nothing has fallen of the vehicle. 

They probably won't look at software versions until the first proper service when they should do any updates required for the satnav system.

As they are the only people you can get the latest update through then you don't have much choice concerning system firmware, their data bases are updated automatically when updates become available so they're generally reliable with such issues.

Not sure if it's the latest - but they're the same as my i30 (Oct 18 - Build Date 06/18)

As expected, they told me that they have updated it and when i checked it's the same versions prior to service.

Which means they ran the update but none were found.
