Do you know if what you want to do is achieveable? Where did you get the idea of installing the buttons to give you these features?

I would say part of the problem is if your car did not have audio controls and cruise control fitted then the clock spring likely does not have the connections to pass the button controls at the wheel to the harness on the other side.

I've only experimented with the FD series i30, I know in that one you can add volume with existing clockspring.

In the GD we'd likely have to compare how many clockspring verions there are but I'm doubtful a simple switch addition will yield cruise control.

Also the instrument clust is likely not setup to display cruise and if it's petrol I'm assuming there will be no throttle control linkages for cruise. I am basing this on what I've seen in the FD.

The diesels ar contolled via the ECU I believe.

Can you tell us what model precisely this is? Is this petrol or diesel?

These are 3 I found, but there's likely some more. If you know of one of these cars with what you want fitted, if we had the VIN that would help. But I'm not sure what you can achieve with your car.

93490-0U010 ( I suspect this is what you have fitted) (Europe)
93490-3R110 ( mentions Audio Remote ) ( Australia and Europe)
93490-A6315 ( mentions heated wheel) (Europe)

Others and I don't know 100% models or regions of the world fitted yet.

93490A6100 ( Australia and Europe)
93490A6400 ( Eurpoe)
93490A6500 ( Australia and Europe)

934901W110 (Australia, Middle East, General)
93490A4110 (Australia, Middle East, General)

There could be others

Well, that's handy to know. I would not have expected cruise to work as easy as that. well done.

Can't help with the wiring as I'm in the middle of a laptop reload with GDS software. Other members have it I believe. Sorry

I still think  there's a chance the clock spring model needs to be changed. i assume the wires you are changing are in that new harness with the switches. Can you list the part numbers of the two switch assemblies and that wire harness that came with them please?

I don't even know if that diagram is correct for your car.

I notice the wire colours don't match

Well, that's handy to know. I would not have expected cruise to work as easy as that. well done.

To give a followup, all GD models made in Slovakia actually have cruise control, flexsteer and volume controls features, what needs to be changed is only the buttons (and clockspring in some cases).

As far as I can see, the buttons bought are from Korea and pinout on the cable needs to be changed to match the Slovakia models!

To give you some sort of idea, check this awesome Russian post (use Google Translate) with product numbers for EU models:
:link: ????????? ???????? ?????-???????? ? ?????????? Hyundai i30 CW / Wagon 2013 ???? ?? DRIVE2

And already translated installation version:
:link: Installation of buttons on the steering wheel Hyundai i30 (cruise control, FlexSteering, speed limiter, audio, bluetooth) ? logbook Hyundai i30 II ??????? ?

I have an i30 GD and did this few weeks ago, my car came without cruise control and flexsteer and by changing the cable and buttons I got those functions.

Nice, glad you worked it out , because I could not. I was wondering about the wiring which was why I was interested in what part numbers you ordered for that harness suspecting you may have ordered something Korean market with different pinouts and functions. I was having similar issue trying to find a harness for our market for cruise and volume in the FD only to discover Korean market had different features and harness.

Pretty handy having all those features waiting to add them with some buttons and wiring.

So the clockspring was ok then  and not need changing?

I'm not sure where the Australian model is made - but if you check your VIN (at https://www.vindecoderz.com for example) and if it's made in South Korea, a kit like this should be sufficient (non heating steering wheel version):
:link: Audio Auto Cruise Retrofit Kit for 2013 2014 2015 2016 Hyundai i30 / Elantra GT | eBay

Regarding clockspring, EU models needed a new clockspring only if the original one came without any buttons ("blank steering wheel"), that's the only difference.

Hi,I've purchased a pair of cruise control buttons so as to upgrade my car but the wiring I've bought didn't worked at all.
It was the 561903X250.
How can I find which wiring is suitable for my car?
I have an i30 1.4 crdi 2014 .

Regarding clockspring, EU models needed a new clockspring only if the original one came without any buttons ("blank steering wheel"), that's the only difference.

I know this may be an old topic, but just want to add my experience as clarification for those who come here searching.
Mine is an 2012 (2013 registered) GD, produced in Nošovice, Czech Republic.
The car originally came without cruise and bluetooth, so no steering wheel buttons apart from on-board computer.

I added steering wheel buttons and the cruise control worked straight away, audio did not, even though I upgraded the radio first to a bluetooth and eventually to a GD-03.

Today I replaced the clock spring with an aftermarket one and now the audio buttons work! When you look at the back of the clock spring, you immediately see why:

On the original clockspring (left) you see a much smaller number of connector pins than on the new one (right).

So as has been mentioned in many posts here between the lines, CHECK YOUR CLOCK SPRING! These things are cheap enough and saves you from taking the wheel off for a second time :)

This video is a great guide for replacing a clock spring, btw.
